I have been taking my chances more on my work commute. I've been caught in the rain only twice. But I had my rain pants with me. Most days I miss it. My riding jacket is not really waterproof, and I need to work on the feet-staying-dry issue. Other than that, riding in the rain is no problem.
People give me shit, that it's REALLY dangerous, but I do all the MSF stuff, so I feel in control.
